چکیده

Vol. 9 No. 3 1997 A DIGITAL router engineering team has refined and extended routing protocols to guarantee a five-second maximum loss-of-service time during a single failure in an Internet Protocol (IP) network. We use the term router cluster to describe our improved implementation. A router cluster is defined as a group of routers on the same local area network (LAN), providing mutual backup. Router clusters have been in service since mid-1995.

Local Fast Failover Routing With Low Stretch

Network failures are frequent and disruptive, and can significantly reduce the throughput even in highly connected and regular networks such as datacenters. While many modern networks support some kind of local fast failover to quickly reroute flows encountering link failures to new paths, employing such mechanisms is known to be non-trivial, as conditional failover rules can only depend on loc...

Using data envelopment analysis (DEA) to improve the sales performance in Iranian agricultural clusters by utilizing business networks and business development services providers (BDSPs)

Business clusters play an important role in developing and improving the economic performance of countries and in promoting the welfare of people. Business development service providers (hereafter referred to as, BDSP) have a considerable role in providing specialized services pertinent to the conditions of active enterprises in clusters and in promoting their performance level in order to impr...

Impact of Traffic Load on SCTP Failovers in SIGTRAN

With Voice over IP (VoIP) emerging as a viable alternative to the traditional circuit-switched telephony, it is vital that the two are able to intercommunicate. To this end, the IETF Signaling Transport (SIGTRAN) group has defined an architecture for seamless transportation of SS7 signaling traffic between a VoIP network and a traditional telecom network. However, at present, it is unclear if t...

The Wackamole Approach to Fault Tolerant Networks Demo

Maintaining the availability of critical network servers is an important concern for many organizations. Server redundancy is the traditional approach to provide availability in the presence of failures. From the client perspective, a network-accessible service is resolved via a set of public IP addresses specified for this service. Therefore, the continued availability of a service via these I...
